The first years

The first series of ships – mostly built from wood – were work boats as well as motor and sailing yachts. Extraordinary operational characteristics and high, long-lasting product quality very soon made ships from Lemwerder become well-known. From these first days on clients have been transport entities, government authorities and private owners. In addition, during the First World Ware the Navy became a client for mainly minesweeping and torpedo dinghi. Today the buyers still come from the same circle of clients. But whilst up to the 50ies the building of smaller type boats dominated, the product range has now shifted to larger, however fewer, units.
